Ultrasonic Permeation Detection
Non-destructive ultrasonic testing to identify pinholes, wall thinning, and minute permeations invisible to visual inspection. Critical for regulatory compliance and preventing environmental incidents.
Prevent costly failures and environmental incidents with AmTech's advanced leak detection and monitoring systems. Our engineers use ultrasonic permeation testing and interstitial monitoring technology to identify tank vulnerabilities before they become emergencies, keeping your facility compliant and operational.

Comprehensive testing, monitoring, and emergency response solutions to protect your tanks and facility from undetected failures.
Non-destructive ultrasonic testing to identify pinholes, wall thinning, and minute permeations invisible to visual inspection. Critical for regulatory compliance and preventing environmental incidents.
Convert single-wall underground tanks to compliant double-wall systems with interstitial monitoring capability, avoiding costly full tank replacement and extended shutdowns.
Rapid mobilization of engineer-led crews with specialized repair materials to contain and repair active leaks, minimizing downtime and preventing environmental damage.
AmTech's leak detection and monitoring systems give you visibility into tank integrity that visual inspection alone cannot provide. Our ultrasonic testing equipment maps wall thickness and identifies microscopic permeations before they become failures. For underground storage tanks, our proprietary Genesis retrofit system creates a secondary containment barrier with continuous interstitial monitoring—bringing older single-wall tanks into full EPA and state compliance without excavation. Should an active leak occur, our emergency crews deploy rapidly with the materials and expertise to contain, repair, and restore operations quickly.

Over five decades of tank integrity expertise backed by proprietary technology and nationwide emergency response.
Ultrasonic permeation detection systems that identify failures invisible to visual inspection and standard testing methods.
Exclusive U.S. licensee of Genesis double-wall retrofit technology, saving facilities tens of thousands versus full tank replacement.
Engineer-led field crews stationed across all 50 states, Canada, and Caribbean for rapid mobilization to active leak situations.
NLPA Special Inspectors and API-compliant testing protocols ensure your facility meets EPA, state, and local tank integrity requirements.

CS Project Engineer / NLPA Special Inspector
Greg Comeau serves as AmTech's CS Project Engineer and NLPA Special Inspector, bringing specialized expertise in commercial tank assessment, regulatory compliance, and complex lining system design. As a licensed NLPA Special Inspector, Greg conducts detailed tank integrity evaluations, ultrasonic permeation testing, and structural assessments that form the foundation of every AmTech project. His engineering oversight ensures that surface preparation, material selection, and application protocols meet or exceed API, NFPA, ANSI, and NSF standards. Greg manages projects across multiple industries—from Fortune 500 chemical facilities to municipal water systems—coordinating field crews, specifying proprietary lining systems, and providing technical guidance throughout the installation process. With direct oversight of both routine maintenance projects and emergency response situations, he ensures that every tank restoration delivers maximum service life extension while minimizing facility downtime. Greg is the primary contact for project inquiries, technical consultations, and employment applications.
Ultrasonic testing uses high-frequency sound waves transmitted through tank walls to measure thickness and identify structural anomalies. Our technicians scan tank walls and bottoms with specialized UT equipment, creating a detailed map of wall thickness variations, corrosion depth, and microscopic permeations that are invisible during visual inspection. This non-destructive testing method meets ASTM and API standards and is essential for regulatory compliance, particularly for underground petroleum and chemical storage tanks.
