Surface Preparation
AmTech evaluates substrate condition, corrosion, existing coatings, humidity, and related site factors before selecting preparation methods that support strong lining adhesion.
Protect and extend the service life of bolted steel tanks with expert relining, corrosion control, surface preparation, and repair services from AmTech Tank Lining & Repair. Our engineer-led field crews assess tank conditions, select lining systems for the stored liquid and operating environment, and deliver solutions designed to support safe, dependable operations across New York and facilities nationwide.

Comprehensive tank preparation, lining, repair, corrosion protection, and emergency restoration for demanding storage environments.
AmTech evaluates substrate condition, corrosion, existing coatings, humidity, and related site factors before selecting preparation methods that support strong lining adhesion.
Dry blasting, wet blasting, and hydroblasting remove rust, scale, old coatings, and contaminants while crews verify the surface profile required for the lining system.
Chemical storage tanks receive lining systems selected around stored substances, temperatures, concentration levels, and operating conditions to create a continuous protective barrier.
Hot and cold water tanks can be cleaned, repaired, and relined with systems designed for steel or concrete water-storage environments and demanding service conditions.
Above-ground tank bottoms can be inspected, repaired, prepared, and protected with a seamless floor-pan lining intended to reduce corrosion exposure and facility downtime.
Engineer-led crews address active leaks, corrosion breakthroughs, lining failures, nozzle damage, and other urgent tank integrity concerns for facilities requiring rapid response.
Bolted steel tanks in New York face corrosion, moisture, stored-product exposure, and changing operating demands. AmTech evaluates the tank, substrate, lining history, and service environment before recommending a suitable repair and relining approach. Our proprietary DuraChem, HydraStone, Armor Shield, and AT BiFlex systems support corrosion protection, safe liquid storage, and reduced disruption for municipal, industrial, commercial, and process facilities.

Our engineering expertise, field crews, and lining systems are built around tank integrity and operational continuity.
Serving tank owners since the late 1960s with extensive lining and repair experience across demanding facilities.
Field engineering support guides assessment, material selection, surface preparation, and application for New York projects.
Experienced field crews cover All 50 US States, Canada and Caribbean for planned and emergency tank work.
Relining and repair strategies are designed to support safe operations while minimizing disruption to facility activities.

CS Project Engineer / NLPA Special Inspector
Greg Comeau serves as AmTech's CS Project Engineer and NLPA Special Inspector, bringing specialized expertise in commercial tank assessment, regulatory compliance, and complex lining system design. As a licensed NLPA Special Inspector, Greg conducts detailed tank integrity evaluations, ultrasonic permeation testing, and structural assessments that form the foundation of every AmTech project. His engineering oversight ensures that surface preparation, material selection, and application protocols meet or exceed API, NFPA, ANSI, and NSF standards. Greg manages projects across multiple industries—from Fortune 500 chemical facilities to municipal water systems—coordinating field crews, specifying proprietary lining systems, and providing technical guidance throughout the installation process. With direct oversight of both routine maintenance projects and emergency response situations, he ensures that every tank restoration delivers maximum service life extension while minimizing facility downtime. Greg is the primary contact for project inquiries, technical consultations, and employment applications.
Bolted steel tank relining generally begins with an assessment of the tank interior, existing coating, corrosion, substrate condition, and stored-product environment. The selected preparation method removes rust, scale, contaminants, and failed coatings before the appropriate lining system is applied. Repairs to steel, seams, penetrations, or nozzles may be addressed as part of the project when required.
