Surface Preparation
Crews assess tank condition, corrosion, existing coatings, humidity, and substrate integrity before selecting blasting or mechanical preparation methods for reliable lining adhesion.
Protect bolted tanks throughout New Jersey with engineered coating, lining, repair, and surface preparation services from AmTech Tank Lining & Repair. Our engineer-led field crews evaluate substrate condition, corrosion, stored contents, and operating requirements before recommending a suitable system. From water and wastewater tanks to chemical and petroleum storage, we help restore integrity, extend service life, and minimize facility downtime.

Engineered tank preparation, coating, lining, repair, and corrosion protection for New Jersey facilities and storage applications.
Crews assess tank condition, corrosion, existing coatings, humidity, and substrate integrity before selecting blasting or mechanical preparation methods for reliable lining adhesion.
Dry, wet, or water blasting removes rust, scale, old coatings, oxides, and contaminants while crews verify the surface profile required for the selected lining system.
DuraChem 500 series polylinings create seamless chemical-resistant barriers for steel or concrete tanks storing corrosive, acidic, or alkaline liquids.
AmTech repairs corrosion, pitting, damaged weld areas, nozzles, and structural steel before restoring coating or lining continuity across the tank system.
AST tank bottom services address underside and internal corrosion with inspection, steel repair, abrasive blasting, and DuraChem 500 series floor pan application.
HydraStone Alkrete cementitious lining systems protect hot and cold water tanks, including domestic hot water, HVAC buffer, and thermal storage applications.
Bolted tanks in New Jersey face corrosion, moisture, chemical exposure, and demanding operating conditions. AmTech evaluates each tank’s substrate, stored contents, service environment, and existing coating before selecting the appropriate preparation and lining approach. Proprietary DuraChem, HydraStone, Armor Shield, and AT BiFlex systems help create durable barriers while engineer-led crews focus on safety, adhesion, and reduced operational disruption.

CS Project Engineer / NLPA Special Inspector
Greg Comeau serves as AmTech's CS Project Engineer and NLPA Special Inspector, bringing specialized expertise in commercial tank assessment, regulatory compliance, and complex lining system design. As a licensed NLPA Special Inspector, Greg conducts detailed tank integrity evaluations, ultrasonic permeation testing, and structural assessments that form the foundation of every AmTech project. His engineering oversight ensures that surface preparation, material selection, and application protocols meet or exceed API, NFPA, ANSI, and NSF standards. Greg manages projects across multiple industries—from Fortune 500 chemical facilities to municipal water systems—coordinating field crews, specifying proprietary lining systems, and providing technical guidance throughout the installation process. With direct oversight of both routine maintenance projects and emergency response situations, he ensures that every tank restoration delivers maximum service life extension while minimizing facility downtime. Greg is the primary contact for project inquiries, technical consultations, and employment applications.
Bolted tank coating and lining typically begins with an inspection of the tank interior or exterior, including existing coatings, corrosion, substrate condition, and service environment. Crews then select suitable cleaning, repair, surface preparation, and lining methods. The final system is chosen according to the tank material, stored contents, operating conditions, and required corrosion or chemical resistance.
