Surface Preparation
AmTech crews assess corrosion, old coatings, substrate integrity, humidity, dew point, and profile requirements before coating application, helping potable water linings bond properly and avoid premature failure.
Protect potable water quality and extend tank service life with NSF/ANSI 61-compliant coating systems for municipal bolted water storage tanks. AmTech Tank Lining & Repair delivers engineer-led inspections, surface preparation, lining application, and repair services designed to minimize downtime, meet regulatory expectations, and restore dependable performance for public water infrastructure.

Complete tank preparation, repair, lining, and waterproofing solutions for municipal potable water storage assets.
AmTech crews assess corrosion, old coatings, substrate integrity, humidity, dew point, and profile requirements before coating application, helping potable water linings bond properly and avoid premature failure.
Dry blasting, wet blasting, and hydroblasting remove rust, scale, contaminants, and failed coatings to achieve SSPC, NACE, and ASTM surface profiles required for reliable tank lining performance.
HydraStone Alkrete and compatible potable water lining systems create a seamless, protective barrier for steel or concrete water storage tanks exposed to corrosion, scale, and demanding service conditions.
Crystalline waterproofing systems such as Port Seal and Xypex seal pores, capillaries, joints, cracks, and penetrations in concrete water structures for long-term resistance to infiltration and leakage.
PLS 755 Tank Tape helps bridge gaps, irregular joints, nozzle areas, pipe penetrations, and weld seams to create smoother transitions before over-coating with AmTech lining systems.
For active leaks, corrosion breakthrough, lining failure, or unexpected shutdowns, AmTech mobilizes experienced field crews with repair materials and equipment to restore tank integrity quickly.

AmTech’s field engineering team evaluates the bolted tank interior, coating condition, corrosion depth, structural issues, water service requirements, and applicable NSF, ANSI, API, NFPA, and local municipal specifications before recommending a lining approach.

CS Project Engineer / NLPA Special Inspector
Greg Comeau serves as AmTech's CS Project Engineer and NLPA Special Inspector, bringing specialized expertise in commercial tank assessment, regulatory compliance, and complex lining system design. As a licensed NLPA Special Inspector, Greg conducts detailed tank integrity evaluations, ultrasonic permeation testing, and structural assessments that form the foundation of every AmTech project. His engineering oversight ensures that surface preparation, material selection, and application protocols meet or exceed API, NFPA, ANSI, and NSF standards. Greg manages projects across multiple industries—from Fortune 500 chemical facilities to municipal water systems—coordinating field crews, specifying proprietary lining systems, and providing technical guidance throughout the installation process. With direct oversight of both routine maintenance projects and emergency response situations, he ensures that every tank restoration delivers maximum service life extension while minimizing facility downtime. Greg is the primary contact for project inquiries, technical consultations, and employment applications.
Water tanks commonly use potable-water-rated cementitious, epoxy, polyurethane, polyurea, or crystalline waterproofing systems, depending on the tank material and service conditions. For municipal drinking water tanks, the coating or lining should be appropriate for potable water contact and aligned with NSF/ANSI 61 requirements. AmTech evaluates steel or concrete substrates before specifying a compatible protective system.
