Surface Preparation
Engineer-led crews evaluate corrosion, existing coatings, humidity, dew point, and substrate condition before preparing steel or concrete to the required SSPC surface profile.
Protect bolted storage tanks from corrosion, leaks, chemical attack, and costly downtime with engineer-led epoxy coating and relining from AmTech Tank Lining & Repair. Our crews assess each tank, prepare surfaces to strict industry profiles, and apply durable lining systems designed for long service life in water, wastewater, chemical, fuel, and industrial process environments nationwide.

Complete tank preparation, repair, coating, relining, and emergency restoration for demanding storage environments.
Engineer-led crews evaluate corrosion, existing coatings, humidity, dew point, and substrate condition before preparing steel or concrete to the required SSPC surface profile.
Dry blasting, wet blasting, and hydroblasting remove rust, oxides, scale, old coatings, and contaminants so new lining systems bond securely to the tank substrate.
PLS 755 Tank Tape bridges gaps around seams, pipe penetrations, nozzles, and uneven joints, creating a smooth surface for durable coating adhesion.
AmTech applies selected lining systems, including DuraChem, HydraStone, Armor Shield, and AT BiFlex, based on stored product, temperature, and mechanical stress.
Tank floors are inspected, repaired, blasted, and coated with seamless corrosion-resistant lining systems that protect vulnerable bottoms from internal and underside deterioration.
Rapid-response crews address active leaks, corrosion breakthroughs, lining failures, nozzle issues, and structural damage to restore service and reduce operational downtime.

AmTech’s field engineering team reviews tank construction, stored product, corrosion levels, previous coating failure, nozzle condition, and access limitations. This assessment guides the repair scope, surface preparation standard, and lining system selection.
Built on decades of tank lining expertise, AmTech delivers dependable solutions for complex storage assets.
Decades of experience repairing and relining municipal, commercial, and industrial storage tanks.
Field engineering support helps match preparation, materials, and application to actual tank conditions.
Experienced crews serve all 50 states, Canada, and the Caribbean for on-site tank work.

CS Project Engineer / NLPA Special Inspector
Greg Comeau serves as AmTech's CS Project Engineer and NLPA Special Inspector, bringing specialized expertise in commercial tank assessment, regulatory compliance, and complex lining system design. As a licensed NLPA Special Inspector, Greg conducts detailed tank integrity evaluations, ultrasonic permeation testing, and structural assessments that form the foundation of every AmTech project. His engineering oversight ensures that surface preparation, material selection, and application protocols meet or exceed API, NFPA, ANSI, and NSF standards. Greg manages projects across multiple industries—from Fortune 500 chemical facilities to municipal water systems—coordinating field crews, specifying proprietary lining systems, and providing technical guidance throughout the installation process. With direct oversight of both routine maintenance projects and emergency response situations, he ensures that every tank restoration delivers maximum service life extension while minimizing facility downtime. Greg is the primary contact for project inquiries, technical consultations, and employment applications.
An epoxy coated retention tank is used to store or hold liquids while protecting the tank substrate from corrosion, chemical attack, abrasion, and leakage. In industrial, municipal, and commercial settings, coated retention tanks may hold water, wastewater, fire suppression water, treatment chemicals, fuels, or process liquids. The coating acts as a barrier between the stored material and the steel or concrete tank wall.
