Water Tank Relining
AmTech restores hot, cold, potable, fire suppression, and storage water tanks with HydraStone Alkrete® linings engineered to resist corrosion, softened water chemistry, scale, and high-temperature operating conditions.
When a bolted water storage tank begins leaking, corroding, or showing lining failure, replacement is not always the smartest capital decision. AmTech Tank Lining & Repair helps facility managers compare relining cost, downtime, compliance needs, and remaining structural life, then restores suitable tanks with proven lining systems designed to extend service life and avoid unnecessary replacement spending.

Cost-conscious tank restoration services that repair, prepare, line, and protect bolted water storage assets.
AmTech restores hot, cold, potable, fire suppression, and storage water tanks with HydraStone Alkrete® linings engineered to resist corrosion, softened water chemistry, scale, and high-temperature operating conditions.
Crews assess existing coatings, corrosion depth, humidity, and substrate integrity before abrasive blasting, hydroblasting, or mechanical profiling to create the adhesion profile required for long-term lining performance.
Dry blasting, wet blasting, and hydroblasting remove rust, scale, old coatings, and contaminants while verified surface profiles help prevent premature lining failure and costly rework.
PLS 755 Tank Tape bridges gaps, penetrations, nozzle openings, bolted joints, and uneven transitions, creating a smoother surface for compatible lining systems to bond properly.
For concrete water tanks, AmTech applies crystalline waterproofing systems such as Port Seal® and Xypex to seal cracks, pores, joints, and water infiltration pathways.
Engineer-led crews respond to leaks, corrosion breakthrough, lining delamination, nozzle failures, and shutdown risks with repair materials designed to restore service quickly.

AmTech begins with visual inspection, ultrasonic thickness testing where required, and review of corrosion, pitting, bolted seams, penetrations, access points, and stored-water conditions to determine whether relining is structurally appropriate.

CS Project Engineer / NLPA Special Inspector
Greg Comeau serves as AmTech's CS Project Engineer and NLPA Special Inspector, bringing specialized expertise in commercial tank assessment, regulatory compliance, and complex lining system design. As a licensed NLPA Special Inspector, Greg conducts detailed tank integrity evaluations, ultrasonic permeation testing, and structural assessments that form the foundation of every AmTech project. His engineering oversight ensures that surface preparation, material selection, and application protocols meet or exceed API, NFPA, ANSI, and NSF standards. Greg manages projects across multiple industries—from Fortune 500 chemical facilities to municipal water systems—coordinating field crews, specifying proprietary lining systems, and providing technical guidance throughout the installation process. With direct oversight of both routine maintenance projects and emergency response situations, he ensures that every tank restoration delivers maximum service life extension while minimizing facility downtime. Greg is the primary contact for project inquiries, technical consultations, and employment applications.
Relining is commonly chosen because it can preserve the existing tank shell, foundation, piping, and site infrastructure instead of funding a full demolition and new installation. Actual savings depend on tank size, access, corrosion depth, seam condition, required repairs, and lining system. AmTech evaluates structural suitability first, then helps compare downtime, repair scope, and expected service-life extension against replacement.
