Surface Preparation
Crews assess tank condition, corrosion, existing coatings, substrate integrity, and environmental conditions before selecting blasting or mechanical preparation methods.
Protect bolted steel tanks from corrosion, leaks, and coating failure with engineered surface preparation, repairs, and lining systems from AmTech Tank Lining & Repair. Our field engineering team evaluates tank condition, stored contents, and operating demands before recommending a practical solution. Pennsylvania facilities can rely on durable restoration designed to extend service life, support safe containment, and minimize operational disruption.

Engineered preparation, repair, coating, and lining solutions for bolted tanks, steel substrates, concrete structures, and demanding storage environments.
Crews assess tank condition, corrosion, existing coatings, substrate integrity, and environmental conditions before selecting blasting or mechanical preparation methods.
Dry, wet, or water blasting removes rust, scale, old coatings, and contaminants while creating the surface profile required for the selected lining system.
DuraChem 500 series lining systems create a seamless chemical-resistant barrier for tanks exposed to corrosive, acidic, or alkaline stored liquids.
HydraStone Alkrete cementitious lining systems help protect hot and cold water tanks from corrosion, softened water chemistry, and deterioration.
Monolithic DuraChem lining systems protect wastewater tanks against aggressive chemistry, biological activity, fluctuating pH, and abrasive suspended solids.
Inspection, steel repair, blasting, and DuraChem floor pan application help restore above-ground tank bottoms affected by internal or external corrosion.
Bolted tanks require coating and lining solutions matched to their substrate, stored contents, corrosion condition, and operating environment. AmTech combines engineer-led assessment, thorough surface preparation, structural repair capabilities, and proprietary lining systems to create durable protection. For Pennsylvania facilities, this approach supports safer containment through changing seasonal conditions while helping reduce downtime, premature coating failure, and avoidable replacement costs.

Our field engineering approach combines specialized systems, experienced crews, and a focus on dependable tank performance.
More than 55 years of tank lining and repair experience supports informed project planning and execution.
Field engineering staff guide assessment, material selection, preparation, and application for demanding Pennsylvania projects.
Experienced field crews cover all 50 US states, supporting facilities beyond Pennsylvania when project needs require it.
Proprietary DuraChem and HydraStone systems address corrosion, chemical exposure, water service, and tank restoration needs.
Specialized professionals support tank assessment, lining design, repair, and field execution.

CS Project Engineer / NLPA Special Inspector
Greg Comeau serves as AmTech's CS Project Engineer and NLPA Special Inspector, bringing specialized expertise in commercial tank assessment, regulatory compliance, and complex lining system design. As a licensed NLPA Special Inspector, Greg conducts detailed tank integrity evaluations, ultrasonic permeation testing, and structural assessments that form the foundation of every AmTech project. His engineering oversight ensures that surface preparation, material selection, and application protocols meet or exceed API, NFPA, ANSI, and NSF standards. Greg manages projects across multiple industries—from Fortune 500 chemical facilities to municipal water systems—coordinating field crews, specifying proprietary lining systems, and providing technical guidance throughout the installation process. With direct oversight of both routine maintenance projects and emergency response situations, he ensures that every tank restoration delivers maximum service life extension while minimizing facility downtime. Greg is the primary contact for project inquiries, technical consultations, and employment applications.
The work generally begins with an assessment of the tank substrate, existing coating, corrosion, stored contents, and operating conditions. Crews then select preparation methods, repair damaged areas when needed, and apply a compatible coating or lining system. The objective is to create a continuous protective barrier that supports containment, corrosion resistance, and longer service life.
