Surface Preparation
AmTech evaluates substrate condition, corrosion, existing coatings, humidity, and tank material before selecting abrasive blasting, water blasting, or mechanical profiling for dependable lining adhesion.
Protect bolted steel tanks from corrosion, leaks, and service interruptions with engineered polyurea lining solutions from AmTech Tank Lining & Repair. Our Northeast crews evaluate tank condition, prepare surfaces, address seams and penetrations, and apply proprietary lining systems selected for the stored product and operating environment. The goal is dependable protection, extended tank service life, and minimized facility downtime.

Comprehensive preparation, repair, lining, and protection services for bolted steel tanks and related storage systems.
AmTech evaluates substrate condition, corrosion, existing coatings, humidity, and tank material before selecting abrasive blasting, water blasting, or mechanical profiling for dependable lining adhesion.
Crews inspect corrosion, pitting, weld seams, nozzles, and structural areas before completing steel repairs and applying a lining system suited to the tank’s service conditions.
DuraChem 500 series poly lining systems create a seamless barrier for chemical storage environments, helping protect steel tanks from corrosive liquids, concentration changes, and operating stresses.
Water storage tanks can receive engineered lining and repair solutions selected for potable water, domestic hot water, HVAC, and other water-service requirements.
Tank bottom repair and floor-pan lining address corrosion, perforation, moisture exposure, and stored-product contact in above-ground atmospheric storage tanks.
Engineer-led crews respond to active leaks, corrosion breakthroughs, lining failures, nozzle damage, and other urgent tank integrity concerns across the Northeast and beyond.
Bolted steel tanks require careful attention to seams, joints, penetrations, corrosion, and substrate condition. AmTech combines detailed inspection, project-specific surface preparation, structural repair, and proprietary poly lining systems to create a continuous protective barrier. For Northeast facilities facing seasonal humidity, weather exposure, and demanding industrial service, the approach is designed to support tank longevity, safe liquid storage, and reduced disruption.

Technical expertise, field engineering, and proprietary systems support demanding tank restoration projects.
AmTech has repaired and relined tanks since the late 1960s, supporting complex industrial and municipal projects.
Field engineers match preparation methods and lining systems to tank condition, stored product, and operating environment.
Own field crews serve Northeast facilities across New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware.

CS Project Engineer / NLPA Special Inspector
Greg Comeau serves as AmTech's CS Project Engineer and NLPA Special Inspector, bringing specialized expertise in commercial tank assessment, regulatory compliance, and complex lining system design. As a licensed NLPA Special Inspector, Greg conducts detailed tank integrity evaluations, ultrasonic permeation testing, and structural assessments that form the foundation of every AmTech project. His engineering oversight ensures that surface preparation, material selection, and application protocols meet or exceed API, NFPA, ANSI, and NSF standards. Greg manages projects across multiple industries—from Fortune 500 chemical facilities to municipal water systems—coordinating field crews, specifying proprietary lining systems, and providing technical guidance throughout the installation process. With direct oversight of both routine maintenance projects and emergency response situations, he ensures that every tank restoration delivers maximum service life extension while minimizing facility downtime. Greg is the primary contact for project inquiries, technical consultations, and employment applications.
Polyurea service life depends on substrate condition, surface preparation, stored product, chemical exposure, operating environment, application quality, and ongoing maintenance. AmTech evaluates these factors before selecting and applying a lining system. Properly prepared and applied lining can help extend tank service life, but the expected result should be discussed in relation to the specific tank and service conditions rather than treated as a universal fixed term.
